The Challenge Cup Relay is the largest and most unique law enforcement race in the world. It is a 120 mile, 20 stage, foot race beginning at Baker, California and finishing at Las Vegas, Nevada. The Challenge Cup Relay began in 1985 with 19 teams as a race for police officers to improve their physical fitness. Pulling together twenty runners per team, along with the necessary support personnel, is only the first step along the challenging path.
The purpose of this highly competitive event is to promote camaraderie, physical fitness, pride, and teamwork throughout a broad spectrum of law enforcement personnel.
Congratulations to the 2014 Baker to Vegas Running Team for finishing 14th in the Open category out of 41 teams and 26th overall. Also the Running Team ran the race 15 hours and 31 minutes, which is the second fastest time in its history.
